The Foundation, a Society now registered under the Societies Act, 1860 was established in the picturesque village of Curtorim on 5th June 1962, under the removal of Difficulties Act.

It is amongst the premier educational institutions of free Goa, with the aim to promote various educational and welfare facilities and project at grass root level spelling peace, progress and prosperity.

Its motto “Tua luce illumine” and its slogan, “Conceive, Perceive & Achieve”, enkindle in all those involved-students, teachers and parents – the fill to imagine, the trill to innovate, the quill to plan, the drill to programme, the skill to perform and the will to unite and achieve.

A concrete beginning in the promotion of education was represented by its sponsorship of St. Xavier’s Institute, a Primary School then later upgraded to a High School with an addition of a pre-primary section.

On the strength of the said aims of the Foundation a new venture was launched in 1988 with a keen sense of vision: the St. Alex Higher Secondary School named after the Patron Saint of the village. This institution is centrally located and enjoys a number of infra-structure facilities, specially the Vocational Wing, offering job-oriented courses.

The Foundation conducts a number of worthy activities like workshops, technical courses, publications, competitions, institution of prizes, awards & scholarships besides collaborating with other institutions towards self-improvement and general betterment not only of Curtorim Village, but also of the State of Goa and the Country.
